TINY TRAVELLERS

Our Tiny Travellers room cares for babies aged 6 weeks-2 years. We provide a warm, nurturing environment that, not only promotes development in accordance with the EYFS framework, but more importantly, allows children to feel secure and comforted at all times, providing a home from home experience. Within the 0-2's room, there are no rigid routines as we believe it is important to base the day around a child's needs and interests. There are plenty of resources to enhance their development through singing, sensory play, stories and sand and water play. These encourage little ones to develop their fine motor skills and promote confidence and social skills. The development of the children is tracked by our experienced staff who carry out regular observations in accordance with the EYFS to identify any areas where support may be needed and work closely with the parents to ensure every child's individual needs are being met. We are more than happy to accommodate parent's wishes when it comes to their child's routine and always have an open door policy.

LITTLE EXPLORERS

Our Little Explorers room is for children aged 2-5years. With a large area carefully thought out to promote independence and exploration, your child is sure to enjoy discovering new interests in our stimulating environment. Each week the learning & development plan for the week is communicated in detail with all parents and there are frequent observations through the Famly App that we use. We focus on parent partnership and incorporate childrens' interests at home as well as at nursery to provide a holistic approach to their learning.

Jay Sparkle
Head of Nursery Operations

Hi I’m Jay. I joined Little Adventures Nurseries in November 2021 as Nursery Development Manager and have progressed to being the Head of Nursery Operations. I have been working in the Early Years sector since 2009. In this time, I have held various positions from Nursery Nurse to Area Manager overseeing 7 nurseries. I feel extremely fortunate to work in Early Years as I know how important these years are for children. I completed my BA (Hons) in Early Years Education in 2017 and this has helped me further my own knowledge of how children learn and develop. I have a passion for ensuring that the teams are trained to a high standard to deliver the best quality care. I have a son of my own so understand how important it is to ensure that you choose the right setting for your children. In my free time I like nothing more than exploring with my little family and we absolutely love baking together. I am currently studying for my Level 7 in Strategic Leadership which is supporting me to help the company grow.

Kia Newbury
(Nursery Manager)

Hi my name is Kia and I am the nursery manager here at Bridgwater. I hold a level 6 qualification (Ba Hons) in Early Childhood Studies, which I graduated with in 2015. I have been involved in childcare for 20 years now, always knowing this was the career path I would choose; from babysitting, to caring for children under 5years during work in different early years and school settings. Having worked in different settings and with different ages, I am able to bring lots of experience with me into the manager role and this is an exciting nursery and team to be a part of. I am also a mother of two so always busy, in our family time we love to explore the Quantock hills and go on family holidays, especially if it involves a beach! I also enjoy reading and love to share stories with young children and develop a love of literature in their learning too.

Abi Haysham
(Deputy Manager)

Hi I am Abi, I am the Deputy Manager and key worker in the baby room. I have been working in early years for 10years now, starting as an Apprentice from school. I am looking forward to being a part of the little adventures group and watching your little ones grown and develop.

Claire Kevan
(Development Manager)

Hi I’m Claire. I joined Little Adventures Nurseries in September 2023 as the Development Manager. I have over 25 years experience working in Early Years. During this time, I have worked in a primary school, managed a preschool and held two nursery manager positions, my last setting was an independent outstanding nursery. I completed my Degree in Education in 2017, this was a huge achievement and deepened my understanding of how children learn and develop. I am highly passionate about Early Years, have high standards and do all that I can to ensure that the children in my care are given the best start in their learning journey. I have always felt privileged to work with children and love to support staff who are new to or developing their skills and knowledge. Outside of work I love to spend quality time with family, going out for meals and long dog walks. I also love to travel and embrace this whenever possible.

Teri Ivens
(Customer Services Supervisor)

Hi, I’m Teri and I am the Customer Service Supervisor for Little Adventures Nurseries. I joined the team in 2022 and am based at Victoria Park. I am AAT Level 2 qualified and currently working towards my L3 Business Administration qualification. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my husband, two sons and our 2 dogs and we love being outdoors exploring. My eldest was in fact the first child to register with Little Adventures when they opened their first setting in Cheddar.

Alisha Mlcak
(Early Years Practitioner)

Hi, my name is Alisha and I’m level 3 qualified in early years. I’ve worked in a nursery for 8 years and I’m very passionate about teaching children and helping them grow. I also have a daughter that attends here at Victoria Park.

Shell Jellett (Early Years Practitioner)

Hi, I am Shell, and I am an Early Years Educator. I have been working in the childcare sector for over 15 years. I qualified as a nursery nurse when I left school and have worked in a range of private nurseries and schools both in Birmingham and Somerset. Most recently I was an Early Years Practitioner in a day nursery for 10 years. I have also completed additional training and have experience of supporting children with a range of special educational needs, including autism. I enjoy creative activities in nursery to include cookery, messy play, and outdoor play. I live in Highbridge with my two children and two cats, Apollo, and Cleo. I love going to the beach and for walks with my family and friends.

Angelene McCormack
(Group Quality Advisor)

Hi I’m Angelene and I started working for Little Adventures Nurseries in June 2022 as a Quality Advisor. I have over 20 years experience working in Early Years. After qualifying at college I started my career working for the NSPCC, working with families who needed extra support and looking after their babies in a creche environment. Following this the majority of my career has been working in nursery settings as senior management which included running busy Baby, Toddler and Pre-School rooms. Within the past 12 years I studied for my degree as well as working in Leadership and Management roles, with my previous position being a Nursery Manager of a 100 place Ofsted Outstanding setting. My experience has enabled me to mentor, support and train staff to achieve the highest of standards. I am really passionate about ensuring all children have the best start in life through nurture and Early Years Education. Children develop so quickly and it’s a privilege to watch them progress and build skills for future learning. I devote my spare time to my family, enjoying dog walks and a variety of parent and baby groups with my daughter.

Daisy Searle
(Early Years Apprentice)

I am currently working on my level 3 qualification. I have always adored working with children and have been since the age of 14. Dancing is a passion of mine as well. I have combined my love for dance and working with children into being a dance teacher at ACTS theatre school. I love to see the confidence and happiness of the children grow!

Beth Kidner
(Early Years Practitioner)

Hi I'm Beth, I'm a level 3 qualified early years practitioner with 13 years experience working across all age groups within an early years setting. I am passionate about helping children grow and develop through play and find it really rewarding. I especially enjoy imaginative play seeing how children create their own ideas, props and storylines. I am a mum of 2 and in my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, running and reading.

Melissa Pike
(Nursery Practitioner)

I am Level 2 Qualified. I have a passion for teaching children to be able to reach their full potential. I enjoy planning lots of messy play activities for all children. In my free time I like to explore the world with my own two children, especially the woods.

Karen Rogers
(Room Manger)

Hi, I'm Karen, I joined little adventurers in August 2022 at Victoria Park. I have been working in education for over 25 years, I have held various positions for SEN support to SENCO. I completed a Foundation Degree in 2009 and have undertaken various courses to further my knowledge underpin and reaffirm my understanding. I have a passion for enabling each child to reach their full potential in a safe secure environment. In my free time I enjoy travel both at home and abroad, cycling and loosing myself in a good book.

Rachel Bailey
(Room Manager)

Hi, my name is Rachel, and I currently work in the Tiny Travellers room at Victoria Park. I am a level 3 early years practitioner with nearly 3 years’ experience, working with babies as well as Over 2’s. I enjoy planning lots of messy and exciting activities for all children, and it’s nice to see them engaging in what has been planned.

Alanna Phillips

I am Level 3 and have worked in childcare for 12 years. At the weekends I enjoy spending time with my own two children. I look forward to watching your children grow and learn within their time with us.

(Room Manager)

Hi, my name is Chloe. I have been working with Little Adventures since January 2023. I am a Room Manager working with children aged 2-3 years. I started my career doing my Level 2 as an apprentice, in a setting which I worked in for 2 years. I then went to college to further my education and am now Level 3 qualified. Outside of nursery I love to spend time with my family and friends.

Kelly Baldwin

Hi I’m Kelly. I’m the Assistant Financial Controller for Little Adventures Nurseries and primarily deal with invoicing and fees. I have lived all over the world including Hong Kong, Cyprus, Germany and worked as a Nursery Assistant in Russia for 6 months. I have worked in nursery administration for the past 10 years, completing my L3 Business Administration and L3 Accounting Diplomas and have recently started my Level 7 Accounting and Taxation to gain more knowledge and further my career within Little Adventures. In my spare time, I like to go for walks, paddle boarding and rifle shooting and spending time with my cat Luna.

Jess Parsons

I’m Jess, I have worked in childcare for 3 years. I love that each day is different and seeing the children’s smiles. I enjoy messy play with the children as well as cooking with them. At the weekends I like to shop and bake.
