Our Nursery Environments

As a trusted nursery in Bridgwater, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework while making learning fun, purposeful and child‑led. Through play, exploration and gentle guidance, we help children develop key skills, independence and a genuine love of learning — all while giving parents peace of mind that their child is happy and thriving.

At Little Adventures Bridgwater we are made up of 4 base rooms and 2 gardens. In Tiny Explorers we focus on settling the youngest children of the nursery into nursery life and provide them with plenty of nurture. Throughout their journey in this room our highly experienced team encourage the children to explore their environment independently with engaging sensory activities.

The next room up is Tiny Travellers, in this room the children are beginning to express their independence skills as we encourage them to make their own choices. Little Explorers is for our older toddlers, in this room we focus on building those independence skills with the children and encourage them to take safe risks.

Finally Big Adventurers is for our Preschool aged children, in this room we not only prepare children for school but for life.  We do not have set age limits for the children in any of our rooms as it is paramount to ensure we can tailor each child’s learning journey at every point without limitation. At Little Adventures Bridgwater we have Montessori inspired activities and try support children to build their independence skills, for example, children are encouraged to serve their own food, scrap it into the food waste bin when they have finished and wash up their plates afterwards.

Outdoor Environments

Tiny Explorers and Tiny Travellers share a garden which is fully equipped for babies and younger toddlers to explore and learn at their own pace. Little Explorers and Big Adventurers share their own garden which has an adventurous activity area for children to learn different woodworking skills as well as a mud kitchen to bake tasty mud pies.

Children are encouraged to be curious about their outside environment and often have activities set up to explore the natural world. We do go outside in every weather so we do ask that whether appropriate clothing is provided.

Alongside exploring our gardens the children have the opportunity to explore their community as we go on outings multiple times a week. For the smallest babies we have a 6 seater pram and older children are encouraged to walk.

On these outings we teach children about road safety, stranger safety and to be kind to the environment. A favourite walk the children enjoy currently is by the canal to spot different types of birds along the canal as well as visits to local parks. We also have exciting adventures and enjoy woodland school and activities for our pre-school children too.
