Little Adventurers
Our Little Explorers Room provides a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment for babies and young children aged 6 weeks to 2 years. We pride ourselves on creating a true home-from-home experience, where every child feels safe, secure, and loved.
Following the EYFS framework, our experienced practitioners support each child’s learning and development through nurturing relationships and age-appropriate experiences. We recognise that every child is unique, so rather than following rigid routines, we work around each child’s individual needs, interests, and daily patterns.
Children enjoy a variety of engaging activities, including sensory play, singing and music, story time, sand and water play, and creative exploration. These experiences help develop communication, confidence, social skills, and fine motor skills while encouraging curiosity and a love of learning.
Our focus is on providing a caring environment where little explorers can grow, discover, and thrive at their own pace.
Big Adventurers
Our Big Adventurers Room caters for children aged 2 to 5 years, providing a spacious, engaging environment designed to inspire curiosity, independence, and a love of learning. Through carefully planned areas and resources, children are encouraged to explore, investigate, and develop new interests through play.
Following the EYFS framework, our experienced practitioners support each child’s learning journey by creating exciting opportunities that build confidence, independence, and essential skills for their future. We place a strong emphasis on child-led learning, ensuring activities reflect children’s interests and developmental needs.
We believe that strong parent partnerships are key to a child’s success. Through the Famly App, parents receive regular observations, updates, and insights into their child’s progress, along with weekly learning plans that outline the experiences and opportunities available throughout the week.
By working closely with families and incorporating children’s interests from both home and nursery, we create a holistic approach to learning that helps every child feel valued, engaged, and ready to thrive.

Nursery Manager

Hi, I’m Evie and I am the new Nursery Manager at Cheddar. I have 7 years experience spread across Primary and Early Years education. I have a Bachelor of Arts with Honours Degree in Education: Primary and Early Years and a whole lot of passion! I am really interested in risky play and it’s link between emotional resilience. I believe that if children are given the opportunity to take risks, seek challenges, to persevere and reflect, they will extend these characteristics throughout their lives, encouraging them to become bold, thinking, adventurous learners! I have just moved into my first house with my boyfriend and I am enjoying finding my inner interior designer.

Hi, I’m Steph and I live in Langford with my partner and son. I started my childcare passion when I was in college. I then went onto have my son so now I’m resuming my studies by doing an apprenticeship in early years. I’m passionate about supporting children’s development and using my singing voice for nursery rhymes.

A dream of mine is to travel Australia one day. I would say my passion for childcare has come from growing up in an environment where my mum ran her own childminding business and is something I have been involved in since I was young. I really enjoy being creative with the children and exploring their imaginations.

Hi, I’m Marv and I am the Nursery Chef. From an early age, I have enjoyed cooking and baking, and I would spend many hours watching my Nan cook for a large family. I love to cook for many and have often been called the feeder. I enjoy cooking for family occasions, especially birthday cakes for my many grandchildren. I have previously held chef positions in Nurseries and a residential home and currently hold a level 3 in catering. I like to spend my spare time with my grandchildren, gardening, cake decorating, and time with my husband.

Hi, my name is Verity and I am the supporting room manager for Tiny Traveller Plus. I joined Little Adventures Nursery, Cheddar in March 2024. I live in Weston-Super-Mare and have been working in childcare for three and a half years. I completed my Level 2 in January 2023 and will soon be going on to do my Level 3 with Little Adventures. I have two nephews and I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I enjoy being within the early years sector and love to explore messy play provision. A goal of mine I would like to achieve is to go travelling in Australia.
